A Couple Of Milestones And A Recognition In Store

Dear Fellow-Bhagavathas,

The divine journey of www.svdd.com takes us through to the completion of seven years of the monthly online quiz 'Trail Our Glorious Sampradaya', with today's uploading of the 84th edition. The sustained enthusiasm of the participants and their feedback bear testimony to the esteem in which the concept is held. It is no exagerration that the credit for its success belongs as much to you.

What started as a diligent attempt at kindling the interest in the Sampradaya, soon turned into an appetiser as participants embraced and relished the challenge. I recall that a few of them even remarked that they looked forward to the first of every month for the new quiz more eagerly than their salary cover. The core feature of this programme is the efficacy of referencing and this enabled the committed ones to learn extensively along the line.

For a serious participant, this will work wonders. The ideal way to go about solving the questions is to study each option thoroughly, often taking recourse to logical deduction. There are 40 options (excluding 'None of these', of course) for the 10 questions and hence a chance to learn as many things. Add to this the 'lead' points that branch out to other unspecified areas and one has acquired quite a bit of enrichment.

It is not enrichment alone, but enjoyment too. The sense of satisfaction the hard-earned correct answer can give is immeasurable. It has to be experienced which, I am sure, the participants do and cherish greatly. This has proved to be just the right platform to learn things anew even while expressing one's knowledge. The amount of animated discussions and analyses among Bhagavathas on quizzes that one hears is really heartening. The three prizes given through the draw of lots are no real match for the kind of involvement shown by a majority of the participants.

One hopes the programme continues to sustain as much interest as it has so far, as we march on.

And on to the next milestone. Tomorrow, 'Weekly Paasuram Quest' steps on the 200th episode. The overwhelming participation, what with many preferring to wait for the midnight upload and compete in sending the entry at the earliest, is a good augury for the Sampradaya.

From a modest beginning when the participants were required to identify a generally well-known Paasurm from its full meaning, the Quest has evolved smoothly to a stage where blanks in the meanings were supported by clues and now even those hints have been dispensed with. That the participants are equal to the challenge and successful at every level is a pleasing aspect.

Again, the quarterly prizes given as a token of recognition of the Sustained Excellence is our way of thanking the participants, though their focus is not on the prizes but the divine experience.

It is astonishing that some have taken part in all but a very few of the 199 Quests so far. We are planning to recognise their feat with special prizes, the details of which will be announced after the results of the 200th episode are known.

We take the opportunity to thank you all for your great support and look forward to continued interaction.

Meet you in the next Note.
